38 dieser Rhythmen stellen wir mit einem Intro vor, bei dem Rhythmus "Kono Najiri" gibt es sogar gleich 2 verschiedene Intros.
Zu allen Rhythmen sind mindestens 2, teilweise auch 3 Djembé-Begleitstimmen notiert, und natürlich die Stimmen der drei Basstrommeln, sowie die jeweiligen Signale.
Billy Nankouma Konaté erzählt ausführlich über sein Leben mit der Musik und über die Traditionen seiner Heimat. Iniké Djembé - Rhythms from Guinea, is a treasure of the musical culture of West Africa. We present 63 rhythms, with detailed information on tradition and history, both of the individual rhythms and of culture and tradition itself. The rhythms are sorted by festivals and customs.
38 of these rhythms are presented with an intro, for the rhythm "Kono Najiri" there are even 2 different intros.
For all rhythms at least 2, sometimes even 3 djembé accompaniment parts are notated, and of course the parts of the three bass drums, as well as the respective signals.
Billy Nankouma Konaté talks in detail about his life with music and about the traditions of his homeland. Having grown up in Guinea and trained on the drums of his homeland, he has a tremendous knowledge of Malinké culture and djembé music. Working with him is a great pleasure and enrichment!

Vor einigen Jahren telefonierte ich mit Billy Nankouma und erzählte ihm, wie viele Rhythmen ich über die Jahre bei ihm gelernt hatte. Wir staunten beide, wieviel Material sich da angesammelt hatte, und da fragte ich ihn spontan, ob wir nicht ein Buch daraus machen sollen- das Ergebnis besteht nun aus einem „Hauptbuch“, in dem wir euch 63 Rhythmen aus Guinea vorstellen, 38 davon mit Intro, und drei weiteren Büchern über Solos für die Djembé und Variationen für die Basstrommeln, passend zu den Rhythmen im ersten Buch.

A few years ago I was on the phone with Billy Nankouma and told him how many rhythms I had learned from him over the years. We were both amazed at how much material had accumulated, so I spontaneously asked him if we shouldn't make a book out of it - the result now consists of a "main book" in which we present you 63 rhythms from Guinea, 38 of them with intro, and three other books about solos for the djembé and variations for the bass drums, matching the rhythms in the first book.
